Owners Suzanne and Steve welcome you to Hip Stitch, a modern sewing fabric store and quilt shop in Albuquerque since 2008.

Whether in-store or online, we offer colorful fabric collections, stunning quilt kits, high-quality sewing products, restored vintage Featherweight sewing machines and more. Hip Stitch is a proud Quilt Sampler Magazine Top Shop featured in the 2019 spring issue.

We're a team of enthusiastic, fun folks who love to sew, quilt, embroider, paint, knit, and other fabric crafts. At Hip Stitch we strive to create a fun atmosphere and enjoy building personal and lasting relationships with our customers.  We hope you'll come by our shop for a visit and some inspiration for your next project.

We also offer fun, educational classes and workshops for all interests and skill levels taught by our experienced staff and celebrated guests. Our creative instructors enjoy sharing their knowledge with others and are forever creating exclusive patterns and beautiful quilt kits for our shop.

Stay up to date with Hip Stitch by subscribing to our mailing list (at the bottom of the page). Our weekly newsletter is chock full of great stuff about our classes, special events, latest fabric releases, special sales and fun trivia tidbits.

Hip Stitch In the Community

Giving back is at the core of the Hip Stitch mission. We think it exemplifies the spirit of quilting, which is the true "Spirit of the West".

It's that "Spirit of the West" where one helps raise the barn or school in their town, participates in the regional cattle round-up, harvests the apples or honey at the apple bee or the honey bee, and yes, makes the quilt at the quilting bee. These things are done not because they directly benefit the person doing them, but because they bind together a community, and because "paying it forward" makes the world a better place.
